The All Progressives Congress (APC) has offered automatic Senate ticket to the former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Dayo Adeyeye in its rescheduled senatorial primary billed for Wednesday.

According to the list of cleared aspirants for the exercise approved by the National Working Committee of the party seen by our correspondent, Adeyeye is the only aspirant seeking to go to the Senate from Ekiti South Senatorial District on the banner of the party.

Incidentally, he will slug it out with the current occupant of the seat on the platform of the PDP, Senator Mrs Biodun Olujimi who is expected to become the leader of the party in the Senate when it resumes sitting.

This is as a result of the defection of Senator Godswill Akpabio from the PDP to the APC.

Also, Senator Olujimi was returned unopposed in the PDP senatorial primaries held Tuesday.

For the other senatorial districts, in the PDP on Tuesday, it was a straight fight between Barrister Obafemi Adewale and Mr Kayode Alufa for Ekiti Central Senatorial District, and
Adewale won by clinching 407 votes to Alufa’s 227.

In Ekiti North Senatorial District, a serving Senator, Duro Faseyi was returned unopposed.

For the APC, former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele will slug it out with a serving Senator, Mrs Fatima Raji-Rasaki for the ticket in Ekiti Central Senatorial District.

In Ekiti North, APC will choose from a list of seven aspirants including two former Senators, Ayo Arise and Olubunmi Adetumbi.
