Presidential aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP; and former Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Peter Obi, has said he would restore the dignity of Nigeria and make it viable if elected as President come 2023.
He said this while addressing the Imo State PDP members at the party’s Secretariat during which he came to roll out blueprints.
He said that Nigeria is great country which ought to stand on its and also sustain itself with what it has gotten.
” All these people that are eyeing the presidential seat, let us find out where they have worked before and their acheievements before we think of casting votes for them”
The Presidential hopeful said that he never owed any Contractor or Civil servants during his time as Anambra Governor, adding that he left 10 Million Dollars in the Treasury of the State.
“There is too much waste in governance in Nigeria. The money would have been used to fund poor children in schools”.
He said China, Japan and other countries invested the money they borrowed judiciously; pointing out that it is yielding for them. Calling for a change to make Nigeria great.
In the past ten years, we have borrowed over 1billion US Dollars. He thanked the party’s leadership for giving him the opportunity to talk to members of the PPD.
He regretted, that Nigeria is a great country saying he has created wealth as an Individual and therefore urged Nigeria not only to be a consuming nation but be shearing Agricultural produce to other countries.
Earlier in his speech, the Imo PDP Chairman, Chief Charles Ugwu, told the presidential aspirant that members of the party knew what he wanted, reminding him that they are solidly behind him.
Speaking, the former Imo PDP Chairman, Alex Obi, said, that Peter Obi is a son in whom they are well pleased. He said that the Igbo are rejected people advising them to pray for God’s intervention.
Former Zonal Vice Chairman of the party, said, that’s he has never ceased to be a good Imo man and however assured him of prayers of imo PDP members and Nigerians at large.
Also, Hon. Nze Ray Emeana, explained, that the Presidential aspirant, Peter Obi, said it where it is pinching the people. He said that Nigerians are begging Peter Obi to rule. He said he is the Igbo project.
Emeana therefore appealed to Imo people to rally round His Excellency, Dr. Peter Obi whom he said would take Nigeria to greater heights if given the mandate.
