The Director General (DG) of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, has called for harmonious management of responsibilities among the Technical Working Group of the Anticipatory Action Task Force.
The DG, gave the advice based on past experience where duties of certain Government Agencies overlap and consequently duplicated.
She spoke on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, when the Group paid a courtesy visit to NEMA in Abuja.
The Technical Working Group was led by the Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Development Partners, Office of the Vice President, Mrs. Inna Binta Audu, with team members drawn from various partner Agencies.
Speaking on the visit, Mrs. Inna Binta Audu stated that the group was on a consultative mission to NEMA, in recognition of the Agency’s critical role in coordinating multi-agency efforts to anticipate and mitigate the impact of the predicted 2025 floods.
Umar, in response expressed her appreciation for the visit and commended the Technical Working Group for its efforts to actualize the task force’s proactive approach.
She advised the group to ensure that the task force’s programmes are aligned with the core mandates of the participating Agencies to avoid duplication of efforts and optimize resource utilization.
