The Zamfara Police Command has sustained the inauguration of Local Government Community Policing Advisory Committee across the state with the inauguration of Maru and Tsafe local government areas, LGAs.
The Commissioner of Police in the state CP Usman Nagogo yesterday 17th June, 2020, inaugurated a 16 and 17 member of the above named Committees in Maru and Tsafe LGAs respectively.
The members of the Committees were inaugurated at the Palaces of the two Emirates and was attended by the two Local Government Chairmen, Community/ Religious leaders and other important personalities of the two LGAs.
The Commissioner, while inaugurating the Committees stressed the importance of the Committees, emphasizing that policing in the modern days is community driven type, hence the people will have the opportunity of providing house to house watch.
While responding, the Emirs and the Chairmen of the two LGAs appreciated the Inspector General of Police for the gesture, which they said would never be abused. They added that only people of impeccable character will be selected into the exercise.
The CP was accompanied by the State Director of Security (DSS), Commandant Civil Defence and other senior Police officers.
The programme ended peacefully and will be extended to the remaining LGAs, stated SP Mohammed Shehu, spokesman of the Command.
