The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has inaugurated a 40-member National Executive Council (NEC).
In a statement by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of NAGAFF, Mr Chidiebere Enelamah the National Executive Council (NEC) of the association would be led by the President, Mr Eugene Nweke.
According to the statement, Enelamah the new NEC is to restructure, reform and enhance administrative competence of the Association.
A total of 40 officers will run their appointed positions for some time before an election would be conducted next year
The new administration will be a transitional one, ‘’ the statement said.
Enelamah advised the new officers to strive to serve and showcase themselves in their new positions with a view to repositioning the association.
He advised the new NEC members and members of the association to shun corrupt practices.
The statement noted that an anti-corruption committee has also been set up by the association to address any issue bordering on corruption.
The newly appointed Deputy President of the association, Oluwole Adeyemi, pledged that all the executives would work hard in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Adeyemi promised that the newly-appointed executive officers would work to increase the association’s membership, conduct trainings and retraining of members.
The statement quoted the deputy president as saying that the National Executive Council would work to improve on welfare, especially on insurance for members.
The statement said the Founder of NAGAFF, Chief Boniface Aniebonam acknowledged that the association was expanding, having commenced full operations at the Katsina border.
According to the statement,
Aniebonam urged members to always see freight forwarding as a profession and should, therefore, work toward upgrading themselves through trainings in transport and logistics management.
