Uber Nigeria has put together an insurance plan for its driver partners, a step the company had taken earlier for its riders.

A commitment to safety for both riders and driver-partners is essential to the Uber experience. The company earlier announced its partnership with AXA Mansard Insurance for its riders which now applies to driver-partners.

This new and innovative policy has been designed specifically for those on the road, providing better protection for driver-partners in the event of an accident while using the Uber app. More great news for driver-partners is that there is no additional action required to benefit from this new protection, as it is maintained by Uber enabling all driver-partners to work flexibly with peace of mind.

With this partnership, AXA Mansard will provide insurance cover against death, permanent total or partial disabilities, medical and funeral expenses for driver-partners when using the Uber app.
Alon Lits, General Manager for SSA explains, “We are deeply committed to the Nigerian market and to driver-partners and remain committed to continuously improving upon the Uber experience. We’re thrilled to partner with AXA Mansard Insurance, a world leader in insurance, to develop an innovative package that will provide partners that use Uber technology with accident insurance”.

For the tech company, this is the first of its kind for driver-partners in Nigeria, providing an even safer ride during every Uber journey.
