The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has named Her Excellency, Ambassador Dr. Brylyne Chitsunge, Pan‑African Parliament Ambassador for Food Security and Chief Executive Officer of Elpasso Farms, South Africa, as the Keynote Speaker for the Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW) Croc City 2026.

The seven‑day conference will hold in Kaduna from 19th to 25th April 2026 under the theme “Food Security: From Policy Paper to Public Plate, The Imperatives of Public Relations.”

Ambassador Chitsunge is widely regarded as one of Africa’s leading authorities on food security, sustainable agriculture, and agribusiness development. As a small‑scale farmer turned commercial agribusiness leader, she has built Elpasso Farms into a diversified enterprise spanning livestock, aquaculture, and crop production, with supply relationships across major retail and hospitality markets.

Her continental and global roles include her appointment as the first Pan‑African Parliament Ambassador for Food Security, where she has helped shape policy discourse on agriculture, climate resilience, and food‑systems transformation. She also serves in high‑profile international capacities such as the Clinton Global Initiative, Co‑Chair of Phytomedicines Global Health Catalyst at Harvard Medical School, Strategic Advisor to government decision‑makers, and representative of cannabis‑sector stakeholders at the International Narcotics Control Board.

Ambassador Chitsunge has delivered keynote addresses and participated in top‑level forums across Africa, Europe, and the United States, focusing on food security, youth empowerment, agricultural innovation, and global health. At NPRW 2026, her keynote is expected to anchor the week by demonstrating how strategic communication can close the gap between policy and practice in the food system.

Her address will highlight the role of public relations in building public understanding, influencing behaviour, mobilising stakeholders, and turning food‑security policies into tangible benefits for communities. Chairman of the NPRW 2026 Planning Committee, Chief ‘Yomi Badejo‑Okusanya, described her as “a powerful symbol of the intersection between policy, practice, and impact,” adding that her presence will drive solution‑oriented thinking throughout the conference.

President and Chairman of Council of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku, said her selection underscores the Institute’s commitment to showcasing African‑led solutions and global expertise in national development conversations. He emphasised that her insights will strengthen the visibility of public relations as a key driver of trust, stakeholder engagement, and collective action in agriculture.

NPRW 2026 is expected to draw over 2,000 delegates, including policymakers, communication professionals, agribusiness executives, development partners, and international observers. The week‑long programme will feature high‑level policy dialogues, technical sessions, youth‑focused tracks, and strategic roundtables aimed at generating implementable strategies for Nigeria’s food‑security agenda.

With the unveiling of Ambassador Dr. Brylyne Chitsunge as Keynote Speaker, NIPR signals growing momentum towards what is projected to be a landmark edition of the Nigeria Public Relations Week.
