The Assistant Comptroller‑General in charge of Excise, Free Trade Zone and Industrial Incentives, Assistant Comptroller‑General Eghosa Joy Edelduok, has held a strategic engagement with excise traders and key stakeholders at the Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service.

The meeting was aimed at strengthening collaboration, deepening compliance, and charting a path toward higher revenue realisation.

ACG Edelduok, in his opening speech recognised excise factories as critical engines of revenue for the Service and commended stakeholders for their compliance with excise regulations. She urged them to sustain their cooperation, noting that the collective effort is essential for the Command and the Service to not only meet but surpass their annual revenue targets.

She also highlighted the impressive contribution of the Oyo/Osun Area Command, which accounts for about one‑third of the Service’s total revenue collection. She challenged officers in charge of excise factories to remain vigilant, disciplined, and results‑oriented as the Command strives to achieve its 2026 targets.

The Acting Customs Area Controller, Oyo/Osun Area Command, Deputy Comptroller Wale Moses Adewole, praised the initiative of the Comptroller‑General of Customs, Comptroller‑General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, fnipr, psc (+), and the Management Team in constituting a committee under ACG Edelduok’s leadership. He said the platform is helping to deepen stakeholder engagement, encourage voluntary compliance, and address operational constraints affecting businesses.

The session ended with an interactive dialogue in which stakeholders sought clarifications on key excise matters and raised challenges in their operations. The Service assured the participants of continued support, collaboration, and a listening‑ear approach to ensure a smoother, more compliant excise environment.
