The crisis in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has deepened with the emergence of Kayode Egunjobi as a factional chairman.
Egunjobi, Report says was among loyalists of the former governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, who stormed the state secretariat early on Monday and took over the place from the Jide Awe-led State Working Committee.
They had accused Awe and his team of collecting money from some politicians to destabilise the party and disrupt Saturday’s governorship primary of the party.
Egunjobi said some concerned leaders of the party decided to take that drastic step to save the party from collapse.
Meanwhile, police have taken over the party state secretariat along Ikere Road, Ado-Ekiti.
