Ethiopian Airlines, has commenced a new four times weekly passenger service to Hanoi, Vietnam, starting from 10 July 2025.

This new route will further enhance Ethiopian Airlines’ global connectivity and provide convenient travel options for passengers traveling between Africa and Southeast Asia.

Regarding the planned flight, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mr. Mesfin Tasew stated, “We are pleased to expand our presence in Southeast Asia and enhance air connectivity for our customers in the region. This new route will create opportunities for stronger ties and collaborations between Vietnam and our extensive global network. We look forward to bringing our renowned service to Vietnam and further growing our presence in this dynamic market.”

The commencement of this flight will provide an essential link between Addis Ababa, Ethiopian Airlines’ hub, and Hanoi, catering to both business and leisure travelers. This new service aims to enhance trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between Vietnam and Ethiopia, while also facilitating connections to Ethiopian Airlines’ extensive network across Africa, Europe, and the Americas. This new route enhances global connectivity by providing a direct link between Africa and Southeast Asia, reinforcing Ethiopian Airlines’ strategic expansion. It strengthens Ethiopian’s position as the largest and most connected airline in Africa, offering seamless travel to various destinations via Addis Ababa.

Additionally, it boosts trade and investment opportunities between Vietnam and African nations, while offering passengers more efficient one-stop connections. This move further solidifies Ethiopian Airlines’ global footprint and market competitiveness, making it a key player in the Asia-Africa aviation corridor.
