Residents of Oke-Afa 11,Shasha and its environs would experience  increased load shedding of electricity  for five weeks beginning from next Monday
Also billed to experience power rationing are residents of Ipaja, Adiyan, particularly those in Alimosho, Sasha, Orelope,Akowonjo,Oki and Okubola, Unity, Kuwait and Olorun-Adaba.
Chief Technical Coordinator of Ikeja Electric, Sunday Oyewole, explained in a statement  that the power  rationing was necessary to give room for the upgrade of  Ejigbo and Alimosho power transformers from 30MVA to 100MVA by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
He  added:”The project, slated to commence on Monday 16tg October, 2017,will run for period of five weeks during which some customers of Ikeja Electric Plc will experience increased  load shedding activity.
“Details  of the project plan indicate that TCN, in order to minimize impact on communities, will affect the upgrade one after the other, upgrading T1 Ejigbo first before work on T3 commences.
He said his company would use available  channels to mitigate the impact of the upgrade
