The Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), will officially launch the Omi Eko Project on Friday, 17th October 2025, at the Five Cowries Terminal, Falomo.
This landmark event highlights the state’s dedication to sustainable development and innovation in water transportation.

The launch, beginning at 10:00 AM, will bring together government officials, development partners, community leaders, and the media. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will deliver keynote remarks and unveil the project, which promises to transform Lagos’s water transport system.

The Omi Eko Project introduces over 78 high-capacity electric ferries, advanced digital ticketing, smart terminal infrastructure, and improved safety measures. These innovations aim to reduce commute times and offer a modern, reliable alternative for millions of Lagos commuters.

Five Cowries Terminal, a key transport hub, will symbolize the seamless connection between land and water transportation envisioned in Lagos’s Urban Mobility Plan.
