NIPCO Gas Ltd, a pioneering investor in natural gas and leading marketer of gas as auto fuel and industrial power, has been honoured with the Gas Infrastructure Leadership Award by Energy Times.
Energy Times is a renowned industry based newspaper with wide readership and huge subscriber base across the country .
The award recognizes the company’s visionary leadership and impactful investments driving Nigeria’s infrastructure development and energy transition.
Presented at a ceremony in Lagos, the award highlighted NIPCO Gas’s extensive initiatives in expanding gas infrastructure, backed by gas distribution licenses granted by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Authority (NMDPRA) for strategic locations including the Ibadan Gas Distribution Area ,Abeokuta and Lekki among others
In the award citation delivered by Energy Times Editorial Board Chairman, Mallam Yakubu Lawal, the company was commended for its network of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations inaugurated since 2009, alongside twenty additional stations currently under completion through its joint venture with NGML.
Mallam Lawal asserted that NIPCO Gas has facilitated widespread gas utilisation through hundreds of kilometres of gas pipelines, significantly improving access to affordable gas for industrial operations.
Receiving the award on behalf of Managing Director/CEO Nagendra Verma, Group Assistant General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Lawal Taofeek, expressed appreciation for the recognition. He noted that this marks the third consecutive year the company has been honoured by the media house, underscoring its consistent leadership. He pledged that NIPCO Gas will continue to upscale its efforts to accelerate Nigeria’s transition to cleaner energy.
It will be recalled that as part of growing gas marketing and utilisation across the country ,NIPCO Gas Ltd recently imagurated two CNG stations in Benin and Warri in Delta State to the delight of.motorist in and around the state .
