The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Mr. Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa has identified Issele-Azagba and Onicha-Olona in Aniocha North Local Government Area and Illah in Oshimili North Local Government Area of the State as flashpoints for criminals causing havoc, especially in the areas of kidnapping, robbery and banditry.

Hafiz made these revelations during his routine visit to the Asaba Area Command where he met with DPOs of various Divisions, members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), non-indigenes, the vigilante groups and other groups and associations doing businesses within the jurisdiction of the Command.

The Commissioner who took time to give account of the Command’s exploits since assuming as the head, assured his hosts that his core mandate in Delta was to combat crime and flush out criminal elements in the State.

He called on all the stakeholders to support the efforts of Police and other security agencies in combating crime and criminality.

Hafiz equally advised Deltans on how to manage information relating to security, maintaining that insecurity has become an order of the day and needs extra care and tact to go about.

The Police Chief however, promised that he would commit his time and energy to ensure the workability and success of Community Policing in the State, adding that it is the way to go in tackling insecurity.

He also appealed for support to the Special Constabularies recently approved by the IGP to be set up at every Division to assist in the policing efforts for communities.

“I assure you that criminals will not have any hiding place in the State. We are doing our best to returning fire for fire and there is no going back.

“Immediately I resumed here, I swung into action and we recorded monumental success in the first month of our operations. And I assure you we are daily recording successes.

“All we need is your tacit cooperation and support to win this fight against insecurity. Just share appropriate information with us and be rest assured we will be the best of professionals in managing the information”, CP Hafiz said.

In the same vein, one of the PCRC executive members, Chief Nze Elumelu commended CP Hafiz for the great work he is doing since assuming duty in Delta.

Elumelu however, pledged the support of PCRC to the Commissioner’s crime preventive and combative measures while soliciting the cooperation of every stakeholder towards ensuring that the police and Nigerian Government win the fight against criminals and insecurity ravaging our society.
