An 85-year-old man, Pa Rafiu Abimbola, has allegedly defiled and impregnated a 12-year-old girl in Isundunrin, in the Ejigbo Local Government area of Osun State.
Reports said that the octogenarian had carnal knowledge of the minor on many ocassions and it resulted in pregnancy.
The man, it was further learnt, threatened the victim that she would run mad if she told anybody what transpired between them.
However, the secret was later blown open and the girl told her parents that the octogenarian had been having sex with her.
The victim was reportedly taken to a hospital in Ejigbo where she was confirmed pregnant after undergoing test.
Sources said she was four months pregnant already and the matter was reported to the Police who promptly arrested the suspect.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Osun State, Mrs Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the case to journalists on Sunday.
The PPRO said, “A 12-year old girl came to the station together with her mother with a report that one Rafiu Abimbola ‘ m’ of Oba compound Isundurin via Ejigbo aged 85 years had sexual intercourse with her sometimes in September 2020 and it resulted in pregnancy.
“The suspect was arrested for interrogation, the complainant was taken to hospital for pregnancy test. The case is under investigation.”
