The Police in Anambra state is investigating circumstances surrounding the death of an Octagnearean.
According to SP Haruna Mohammed,PPRO* Anambra State Police Command, “On 9/06/2020 at about 6:am, aggrieved youth in Agulu town went on rampage and barricaded roads, protesting over the sudden death of late Mrs Mgbeke Ezeagha ‘f’ aged 80 years of Ifiteani,Agulu in Anaocha LGA of Anambra State.
The youth who alleged that her death was due to arrests made by operatives attached to the Command Special Anti-cult section (SPACS) following a tip off and were persuaded to disperse peacefully through the joint efforts of the Police and community stakeholders.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police CP John B.Abang, who is deeply saddened by the unfortunate incident has ordered for a full scale investigation into the matter.
The CP further assured the public that justice would be done in the case and the outcome of Police investigation shall be made public.
