Africa’s and Nigeria’s sensational table tennis player, Quadri Aruna has become the first African ping ponger to reach the semi final stage of the World Table Tennis, WTT Star Contender after recording an outstanding performance.
Aruna, recorded an outstanding three straight sets of eleven- eight, eleven – eight and eleven- seven, and won over China’s Zhou Qihao in the quarter final of the Men’s singles, in Doha, Qatar.
Aruna, who has now defeated three top Chinese table tennis players enroute the semi final, in Doha, outplayed Liu Dingshuo in the round of thirty- two and Zhao Zihao in the round of sixteen.
Having qualified for the semi finals, Aruna, will now face Lim Jonghoon of South Korea, who the Nigeria’s ace ping ponger, will be looking to get his pound of flesh after losing One- three to the ping ponger in the round of thirty- two at the WTT Contender.
