The Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE) said it received with profound shock and deep sorrow the news of the sudden passing of Mr. Sylvester Enoghase, Business Editor of Independent Newspapers.
Sylvester was more than a journalist; he was a committed advocate of private sector development and a trusted ally of the Nigerian business community, writes Chief Executive Officer of the Center, Dr. Muda Yusuf.
Through his professionalism, diligence, humility, and passion for economic development, he consistently amplified issues that mattered to businesses and helped shape public understanding of critical economic policies and reforms.
His unwavering support for private sector advocacy, his warmth of character, and his remarkable dedication to business journalism earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues, policymakers, and the organized private sector. His passing is a painful loss, not only to the media profession but also to all who are committed to the cause of enterprise, investment, and economic progress in Nigeria.
The CPPE will deeply miss his friendship, encouragement, and invaluable contributions to our advocacy journey.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, the management and staff of Independent Newspapers Nigeria Limited, and members of the Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CICAN).
May Almighty God comfort all those he left behind and grant his gentle soul eternal rest.” Yusuf writes.
