The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ola Olukoyede has called for more credible information and intelligence sharing among anti-corruption and securities agencies in the country to further tackle economic and financial crimes and national insecurity.

Olukoyede made the call through the Acting Zonal Director of the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC,  ACE I Hauwa Garba Ringim on Thursday, February 26, 2026 when the Acting Customs Area Controller of the Oyo/Osun Area Command, Deputy Comptroller of Customs (DC) Wale Adewole embarked on a familiarization visit to the Directorate.

While welcoming the Controller, Olukoyede stated that there was no better time than now for the visit to ensure that the existing collaboration and synergy between the Nigerian Customs Service and the EFCC is further strengthened,  such that both organizations achieve their mandates for effective economic growth.

He added that, “emphasis must be placed on adequate and timely information and intelligence sharing between the NCS and the EFCC that would help combat economic and financial crimes, insecurity, smuggling and generate revenue for the government”.

Also, he emphasized the need for inter-organizational training and re-training of staff, bringing to bear professionalism and integrity as official duties are being discharged and assured the Deputy Comptroller of the Commission’s willingness to further support any good and productive cause when the need arise.

DC Adewole, in his remarks stated that “as the newly appointed Customs Area Controller,  it  is mandatory for me to embark on a familiarization visit to all relevant stakeholders and sister agencies in Oyo and Osun States to ensure that the financial aspects of our official duties are sabotaged”.  He assured the Zonal Director of all necessary support and collaboration for better service delivery.
