President Muhammad Buhari led All Progressives Congress, (APC) stalwarts including governors to a mega rally in support of Ekiti state governorship candidate, Kayode Fayemi in Ado Ekiti.

At the rally he begged the electorate not to be carried away by stomach infrastructure offered by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government led by Governor Ayodele Fayose in the state to give room for rapid development.

Buhari who spoke at the grand rally at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in the state capital city that had 15 state governors of the party, Federal Executive Council, (FEC) members, ministers and other party chieftains, the newly elected national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, national leader of the party, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu among described Ekiti people as honourable and intelligent that must embrace the change agenda of the APC.

He said the APC-led federal government under his leadership has executed many projects in the state to generate employment and put food on the table of the residents of the state.

Buhari said: “Several roads including Ado-Ifaki, Ijesa -Isu, Efon Alaaye- Erinmo-Iwaraja were rehabilitated .

“Federal secretariat complex, national housing programmes of the federal government construction are ongoing. This has provided gainful employment and accommodation for the people.

“Our social intervention schemes likes N-Power, school feeding programmes and micro credit are also in place, this we do without  putting into consideration political affiliation”.

President Buhari restated the commitment of his administration to the security of lives and property of all Nigerians.

While urging Ekiti people to vote for APC and its governorship candidate, Fayemi in the next Saturday election, the President said with Fayemi ” a meaningful development is guaranteed.

“Your future and the future of the generation yet unborn is in your hand, you must vote aright and not get carried away by the stomach infrastructure they are offering you, the President said”.

Earlier in his address, Oshiomhole who urged the mammoth crowd to vote Fayemi said APC was out to deepen and sustain the change which APC represents in Ekit state.

He said, “Fayemi has come to bring finesse to governance. He was cheated out in 2014 despite getting the vote of Ekiti people.

“He is following the footsteps of PMB who believes that democracy is for those who can endure and turn things around.

“I am aware civil servants, local government workers, pensioners have not been paid for almost one year despite over 20 billion naira Governor Ayodele Fayose received from the federal government as bailout fund.

‘’He refused to pay and the workers have been pauperised. PDP is Poverty Development Party, Papa Deceiving Pikin vice versa”.

The APC Chairman assured that Fayemi will pay up all the outstanding salaries when he is elected as the Governor of the state.

“We are here to bring a message of hope to the people. Fayemi will make a difference by paying the owed salaries and entitlement when elected.

He accused Fayose of resorting to primitive tactics to win election.

“How could a governor shut down the economy of the state by ordering the market to be closed and directed transporters not to work. You will vote under a well secured atmosphere and nothing will happen to you”.

While addressing the party faithful Dr. Kayode Fayemi told the people that APC in the state is more united than ever before, saying that people should expect more developmental project than before when elected into office.

“All of us in APC are united and determined to send PDP away. The election will be free, fair, credible, transparent, authentic, genuine and acceptable.

“I am running on a track record. There is no community, hamlet that we did not touch in terms of developmental projects during my first tenure. Nothing of such is happening in this present government.

“President Buhari did not sack me, I told him that people really need me now. I am here to reclaim our land and restore our values”.
