The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Father and his Son who allegedly Raped and impregnated a 13 years old girl.
Also arrested is another suspect who defiled a 14years old girl, the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Bala Elkana, has disclosed.
The Command’s Gender Unit received a complaint of defilement of a minor reported by the Mother of the minor (Name withheld) against the husband of her elder sister Kabiru Oke a 44 years old man of No 1 Olatikupo Street, Egbeda and his 19 year old son, Oke Faruq of the same address.
The survivor/victim (which name is withheld) lived with the perpetrators for a couple of years. The unholy affairs between the minor and the first suspect started on 20th October 2018 with the suspect having constant sexual intercourse with the survivor.
The second suspect, being the son of the first suspect started having Unlawful carnal knowledge of the same minor on 10th January 2019. The suspects have constantly threatened to kill the victim if she ever tells anybody about the affairs. The victim exposed them when her mother suspected some changes in her and discovered that she is pregnant.
The survivor was taken to Mirabel Centre by our Gender Unit for medical examination. The two suspects were arrested and charged to Magistrate Court 2 Ogba for defilement. The case was adjourned for 13/5/2019 while the suspects were remanded in Kirikiri prison.
In a related development, one Marainerume Alfred 45 years old man of Oke Itunu Church Close, Ejigbo was arrested for defiling a 14yrs old girl.
The matter was reported to our Gender Unit by the Mother of the survivor. The complainant stated that they live in the same street with the suspect. That the suspect usually called the survivor into his shop while on her way back from school, along Iyana Ejigbo road Lagos, were he sells Nigerian Films and have unlawful sexual intercourse with her in the shop.
The Crime started from May 2018 up to 27 March 2019. The suspect, in his statement to Police, revealed that he turned the survivor into his sex partner after he divorce his wife in May 2018. The matter was discovered on 27th March 2019 at about 1400hrs, by the survivor’s grandmother who perceived some odours from the body of the survivor when she returned home and subjected her to questioning.
The survivor opened up to her grandmother and narrated the whole story.
She further stated that, the suspect threatened that she will die if she ever disclose it to her parents. That the suspect usually give her some drugs to take and equally mix salt and water for her to take after sex, to prevent her from getting pregnant. Investigation is ongoing, suspect will be charged to Court for defilement.
