Hit And Run Driver Kill One Injure Two Along Onitsha- Asaba Road

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in Anambra has recorded a road mishap involving a hit and run driver along Onitsha-Asaba road on Saturday September 5.

Spokesman of the Command, RC Kamal Musa, said, “A hit-and-run  driver of sky-blue Mitsubishi L300 Bus, whose identity was not captured, knocked down four female adults who were crossing the expressway near MCC along Asaba- Onitsha road this evening Saturday 5th September 2020.”

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around  1559hrs. They said the vehicle was on top speed and fled after knocking down four Female Adults, three seriously injured and one who allegedly died on the spot were rushed to Toronto hospital by a good Samaritan before the arrival of FRSC rescue team from Upper Iweka Outpost who deposited the dead victim at the Mogue after she was confirmed dead by the Doctors in the hospital.

The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi, has sent his condolences to the deceased family and admonished Pedestrians to endeavour to use pedestrian bridges, to avoid being knocked over by vehicles plying the expressway.

He also warned drivers against over speeding adding that a maximum speed limit of 50km/hr is recommended for vehicles within built-up areas.
