Katsina Police Arrests 3 For Raping And Killing 13 Year Old Girl

Katsina Police Command have arrested three suspected serial rapists who allegedly raped and killed a 13 year old girl by drowning.

Spokesman of the Command Gambo Isah, said, “On 14/08/2020 AT 15:45hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in  arresting the of trio  of 1. Mubarak Lawan, m, aged 16yrs 2. Anas Ibrahim, m, aged 15yrs and Aliyu Mika, m, aged 15yrs all of Danmusa town, Danmusa LGA of Katsina state, who conspired, attacked and raped one Safiya Basiru, ‘f’, aged 13yrs of Dutsen-Dadi village, Danmusa LGA of Katsina state, inside their farmland and thereafter threw her into a nearby pond, in which as result she got drowned and died. ”

According to Isah, the dead body of the victim was later recovered and taken to Danmusa Hospital where she was confirmed died.

In the course of investigation suspects confessed to the commission of the crime and investigation is ongoing.

The spokesman also said, “On 18/08/2020, based on credible intelligence, the Command succeeded carried out various sting operations in various locations in the frontline areas on syndicates that specialized in assisting and collaborating with bandits in the forest.

In the course of the operation the Command succeeded in busting a notorious syndicate that specializes in sells of illicit drugs (Tramadol, D5, and Exol tablets) to bandits.

Nemesis caught up with the trio of 1. Sani Musa, m, aged 30yrs of Sheme village, Faskari LGA of Katsia state 2. Nuhu Lawal, m, aged 30yrs  of  Yar Goje village, Kankara LGA of Katsina state 3.  Umaru Amadu, alias “NO GREE” m, aged 35yrs of Dutsinma LGA of Katsina state.

In the course of investigation 550 D5 tablets, 39 Tramadol tablets and 230 Exol tables were recovered in their possession.  Suspects confessed to the commission of the offence while effort is on top gear with a view to arrest their ring leader one   Rabe Karofi alias “Rabe Kwayu”.”

Similarly, on the same date, at Funtua and Mararabar Kankara, the Command succeeded in arresting/busting a syndicate that specializes in sells of fuel in Jerricans to suspected bandits and recovery of five (5) dismantled stolen motorcycles conveyed inside a Golf motor vehicle with reg. no. AA 869 RMG suspected to have been received from the bandits in the forest.

Suspects arrested are,,Badaru Ibrahim, m, aged 25yrs of Tsiga village, Bakori LGA of Katsina state –  4 Jerricans loaded with PMS, Abdulrahim Lawal m, aged 31yrs of Mararabar-Kankara, Malumfashi LGA of Katsina state – manager of filling station – aiding and abetting banditry in Katsina state and  Imrana Abdullahi, m, aged 20yrs of Mararabar – Kankara, Malumfashi LGA of the state – pump attendant.

Others are, Abdulsalam Muhammed, m, of Salnas filling station, Zaria Road, Funtua – pump attendant, Usman Umar, m, aged 27yrs of Maska village, Funtua LGA of Katsina state. 6 Jerricans Loaded with PMS and Abdullahi Isyaku, m, aged 33yrs of Fatika village, Giwa LGA of Kaduna state – was arrested with five stolen motorcycles and 16 empty Jerricans.

In the course of investigation ten Jerricans loaded with petroleum product and sixteen (16) empty Jerricans were recovered in possession of the suspects.

In another development, Isah said, “On 18/08/2020 at about 04:30hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting one Mustapha Wada, m, aged 28yrs of Gwagwarwa, Nassarawa LGA of Kano state, a notorious member of a syndicate that specializes in vandalizing electricity installations in Katsina, Kano and Yobe states.  Nemesis caught up with the suspect when he was arrested vandalizing electricity transformer installation at Doro village, Bindawa LGA of Katsina state.

In the course of investigation four (4) armoured cables, one flier, five spanners, one screw driver, twelve pieces of small knives, and a sack. Suspect confessed to the commission of the crime.   Investigation is ongoing. “
