In a move that underscores its growing diversification within Nigeria’s aviation services sector, NAHCO Travel and Hospitality Limited (NHTL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NAHCO Plc, has officially commissioned Sapphire Hotel, a premium hospitality facility located inside the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Terminal II departure area.
The newly launched Sapphire Hotel features 20 luxury rooms and represents a significant expansion of NAHCO’s presence beyond ground handling into high-end travel and hospitality services. Designed to meet the needs of international travellers, transit passengers on layovers and business executives, the facility combines convenience with upscale comfort in a setting tailored for today’s fast-paced travel environment.
According to the company, the hotel’s strategic location within the airport terminal places it just seconds away from check-in counters and boarding gates, eliminating the stress of commuting between the airport and off-site accommodation. Operating круглly around the clock, Sapphire Hotel is positioned to offer guests a seamless transition from airside activities to a calm, secure and premium resting space.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Prince Saheed Lasisi, Group Executive Director, Commercial and Business Development at NAHCO Plc, described the project as part of the company’s broader commitment to service excellence and customer-focused innovation. Also commenting on the launch, the Group Chief Subsidiaries Officer, Mr. M. I. Uddin, explained that the hotel was designed to address a practical gap in airport hospitality. He said the facility caters to travellers who may be on extended layovers or who prefer accommodation that keeps them within immediate reach of their departure gates. According to him, Sapphire Hotel strikes a careful balance between luxury and functionality, offering comfort without compromising operational efficiency.
