Police Arrests 5 Suspects For Culpable Homicide, Kidnapping

The Niger State Police Command have arrested suspects allegedly involved in kidnapping and other offences.

According to the Commands Spokesperson, Wasiu Abiodun, “On 26/07/2020 at about 1030hrs, based on information received, that two teenagers were found lying dead behind M.I Wushishi Housing Estate.

On receipt of the information, Police detectives attached to Chanchaga division swung into action and arrested three suspects in connection with the case, one Alh. Umaru Ibrahim age 41yrs, Nuhu Ahmadu age 27yrs, and Safulai Ahmadu age 23yrs all ‘m’ of Kpapi village via Chanchaga, Minna. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to have conspired and  fired dane gun at the deceased persons, claiming to have encroached and damaged their farmland through illegal mining. Suspects will soon be arraigned in court for prosecution.”

Also, “On 28/07/2020 at about 0900hrs, information was received that unknown gunmen numbering about fourteen invaded Nakudna village via Erena in Shiroro LGA and kidnapped one Jambo Salihu ‘f’ of the same address to unknown destination. On receipt of the information, Police detectives attached to Erena division swung into action and arrested two suspects; Danladi Sarki age 25yrs and Yunana Danjuma age 28yrs both ‘m’ of Nakudna and Kusasu villages in Shiroro LGA in connection with the case.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to be indigenes of the community but conspired with their armed gang members now at large, and acted as pointers and informants to the bandits. The victim was rescued unhurt  while effort to arrest  the fleeing suspects is on going. Case under investigation.” Abiodun said.
