The Ekiti State Police command have confirmed that some dare devil armed robbers dressed in green camouflage uniform robbed a financial institution (UBA BANK) in Oye, along Ilupeju road.
The robbers in their numbers simultaneously attacked the Police Divisional Headquarters in Oye Ekiti, setting ablaze one police patrol vehicle in the process used dynamite explosive to force open the bank door to gain entry into the bank: shooting sporadically without caution, resulting in the death of about a 10 year old girl and a police officer on bank guard duty.
According to DSP Caleb Ikechukwu, PPRO Ekiti Police Command both corpse were confirmed dead by a certified medical Doctor and their bodies have been deposited at the Federal Teaching Hospital Mortuary Ado-ekiti.
However a combined team of Special Anti-robbery squad operatives (SARS), Safer highway Patrol Team and Police Mobile Force are on the trail of the suspects to bring the culprits to justice.
