The Seventh edition of the Innovention series, a platform to examine the question of Africa’s development, will be holding today at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. This edition will be looking into the prospects in the creative industry and the emergence of a new crop of Africa storytellers bringing a new dimension to African narrative for a global audience. The theme for the event is “Building Africa’s Fortune through Mediatainment”.

Seasoned speakers expected at the event include Bolanle Austen-Peters, the founder of Terra Kulture that has been described by CNN as the woman powering the Nigerian theatre; Ibim Semenitari, the first Nigerian Female Journalist to win the CNN African Journalist of the Year. Others are Dr Ibilola Amao, Principal Consultant at Lonadek and Stephanie Busari, the first digital and multimedia bureau chief at CNN; Kemi Adetiba, Filmmaker & Music Video Director; Yahaya Maikori, Founding Partner, Law Allianz; amongst others.

The Innovention Series will attempt to provide pragmatic ways of harnessing the power of African content in order to generative revenue streams from across the world. Invited dignitaries and patrons for the event will be drawn from corporate and social Nigeria to stimulate the pragmatic conversation.

The periodic series is convened by Verdant Zeal Marketing Communications Group, a multidisciplinary business solutions provider in Nigeria, Ghana and The Gambia, and with specializations in Branding, Consultancy, PR Management, Media Consulting, Digital Marketing and Events Activation which has been in operation for more than a decade.
