Fourteen ships loaded with foods, petroleum products and other goods have arrived Lagos ports, and waiting to moor.
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) in its daily publication, “Shipping Position’’, made available to newsmen in Lagos, indicated that five of the ships contained petrol with five others bearing bulk rice.
The document noted that four others waiting to berth were laden with containers, fresh fish, bulk clinker and bulk fertiliser.
It explained that 31 other ships were expected at the ports from February 18 to March 8.
The document indicated that 11 of the expected ships would sail in with containers, while 20 others would arrive with petrol, diesel, bulk rice, tug boat, buckwheat, fresh fish, bulk linker, bulk sugar and general cargo.
It noted that 17 ships were in the ports, discharging palm oil, containers, gypsum, sugar, bulk rice, gas oil, general cargo, bulk gas and petroleum products.
