The official death toll from the COVID-19 pandemic has hit 150 in Nigeria; as 242 new cases were reported on Monday, May 11, taking the country’s total confirmed cases to 4641.
This was disclosed by the country’s disease-fighting agency, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.
Of the 242 new cases recorded yesterday, Lagos once again accounted for the majority with 88. Also, three other states racked up double figures in new cases on Monday. They are Kano which reported64 new cases; Katsina with 49 new cases and Kaduna with 13.
In summary, 13 states and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were responsible for the 242 new cases reported Monday. In addition, the number of patients who have been discharged after making full recoveries from COVID-19 also rose to 902.
