The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has added 284 retired personnel of Nigeria Re Insurance company into its monthly payroll, sixteen years after the company was privatized.
A total of NGN8.31m was paid to the new enrollees for the month of July 2018 as they start receiving their monthly pension for life.
According to the Executive Secretary PTAD, Sharon Ikeazor “no pensioner or retiree, after serving their fatherland should ever be forced into the indignity and painful uncertainty of delayed pensions. Today, Nigeria Reinsurance pensioners verified by PTAD Nigeria have been placed on monthly pension payroll. It is indeed a promise kept.”
She thanked the PTAD team for the dedication to fulfill the mandate of the Directorate and reiterated President Muhammadu Buhari’s commitment to pensioners’ welfare, promising that the backlog of outstanding pension arrears will be cleared as funds are allocated and released.
