A delegation of 32 Indonesian companies wednesday exhibited their newly-produced variety of products to would be Nigerian businesses and distributors in Lagos.

The delegation, which is in Lagos for the “First Indonesia Solo Exhibition,’’ included companies dealing in food and beverages, textiles, jewellery, pharmaceuticals, agricultural produce and spa products.

The Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Harry Purwanto, said at the Business Meeting that the Exhibition was organised to enhance trade relations between Nigerians and Indonesians.

“This Solo Exhibition is organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Nigeria and the Indonesian Trade Promotion Centre in Lagos.

“This exhibition is an effective platform for the promotion of Indonesian products into Nigerian markets, as well as provide a business network between Nigerians and Indonesians.

“Today, we have 32 different Indonesian companies with their products to be introduced to Nigerians,’’ he said.

Harry commended the Nigerian government’s commitment to increasing trade and bilateral relations with Indonesia in the years ahead.

The Envoy, who said that Nigeria and Indonesia had had long lasting relations, noted that both countries’ potential was huge.

He said that there were currently many Indonesian companies in Nigeria, while many others were still watching to see the possibility of coming to do business in Nigeria.

The Director of the Indonesian Trade Promotion Centre in Lagos, Mr Nino Setiawan, said that the exhibition was a reminder of the existing bilateral ties between the two countries.

Nino said that there was currently growing contacts between Indonesian businessmen and their Nigerian partners.

He said that his Centre, with the assistance of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade and Industry, continue to contribute to the development of Nigeria’s non-oil and gas sector.
