57 Homosexuals Picked By Police In Lagos

Yesterday 26/08/2018 at about 0030 hours, the Lagos Police Command acting on intelligence report have stormed an initiation spot where some youths (males) were to be initiated into a Gay/Homosexual Club at Kelly Ann Hotel/ Event Centre, located No. 3-7 Adenrele Street, Egbeda.

The Police described the action to be contrary to section 1 (1)  of Same Sex Marriage Act 2014.

Consequent upon this, operatives led by DPO Shasha and DPO Idimu stormed the venue and on arrival, young men numbering about eighty (80) were met in a hall taking different types of drinks including banned substance like Tramadol, Shisha laced with substances suspected  to be Marijuana (IGBO) etc.

“As soon as they sighted the police, they ran into different directions. However, the team arrested fifty seven (57) of them”, the command said in a statement.

Speaking with one of the suspects ,Raphael Micheal, a tricycle operator, told Oriental News Nigeria, that, “I carried some people from Ikotun, to synagogue hotel, and I discovered that the place is field up I have to take them down to Igando, we still couldn’t get the cheapest hotel, we have to proceed to Egbeda, shaha, where we could get the cheapest, lodging.

We succeeded in getting Kellyans Hotel, I did not charge them much I only charged them N1,000 to the place, that is where I was arrested that I’m an homosexual, that I have come to do initiation, I just decided to help them out with that amount, before I was picked up, I’m calling on God to intervene on the matter”.

Also speaking Wole Ojo, a Social Media, operative, said, that,”I was coming from Surulere, and I discovered that there was a lot of gridlock on the road and I was carrying a laptop on my hand, and I needed to browse , I have to use that opportunity to lodge in that hotel in Egbeda, Kellyans hotel, to enable me complete my job, the Police just came from nowhere to arrest me that I’m an homosexual, I don’t know anyone here, I’m just on my own.”

Also speaking, Omoniyi Tobi, said , that I came here, for birthday party. 

“I don’t know anything about homosexualism, even some ladies were also arrested alongside with us , but they have been arrested on bail, at it been we have them here they will speak.”

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi , said in his conclusion, that, “Investigation into the case is on going, the suspect will soon be charged to court.”
