The former Group Managing Director of Ocean Bank Plc, Mrs. Cecilia Ibru yesterday stated that Aero Contractors, was on the path of recovery after going through operational challenges in recent years.

This is as Capt. Ado Sanusi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the airline has offered 60 free tickets to lucky customers of the airline to mark the carrier’s 60 years anniversary.

Speaking at the headquarters of the airline yesterday at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos, Ibru said that the airline, which is currently the oldest carrier in the country had its good and bad times, but lauded the current management led by Sanusi for returning the airline to the right path.

She lamented that when the carrier was going through its challenges, several of its top staff jumped the ship to join other carriers, while most of the junior staff stayed back, but promised that they would be re-absorbed back into the system at the right time when they reapply.

She explained that the hitherto passengers’ apathy to the airline had disappeared; stressing that air travellers today had utmost confidence in its operations.

“We are happy to say that today, God has restored the confidence the air travellers have it n the airline because passengers now patronise us just like in the past. We today have full capacity to all the routes we’re flying to.

“The C-Check we are doing today and the increase in the number of rotary wing shows that recovery can’t elude us. When we recover, we must forgive those who sent us into the pit. Any recovery so far, which you must have seen here, is majorly due to the head. In whatever you do, the head is very important. I am happy with the current leadership at the helms of affairs.” – Daily Independent
