Lagos Police Command Warns Public Against Impersonation

The Lagos police command has lamented impersonation of the force by some members of the public.

The latest warning is coming as the Commissioner of Police in the state while on routine patrol along 3rd Mainland Bridge between Adeniji Adele and Olowu intersection stumbled into a commercial Volksvagon (Fanagon) bus marked FKJ 205 XB blue colour with Police inscription both at the front and back conveying commuters.

The Police said the driver one Tunde Sanni of Sura area of Lagos Island and the motor boy Sunday Asapo were promptly arrested with the vehicle and taken to Adeniji Adele Police station and that the case will soon be charged to court.

In lieu of the above the command warn all others who are in the habit of impersonating the police by way of painting vehicles in police colour, wearing police uniforms to desist from such act, as the police in Lagos state will no longer tolerate the act.

The Command that investigations has revealed that many times the imposters hide under the guise of being police personnel to commit nefarious activities.
