61 Year Old Arrested For Chopping Of Hand Of 11 Year Old Boy

The Lagos State Police Command has in its custody a 61 year old man attacked an 11 year old boy with a knife.

According to DSP Bala Elkana, the Lagos State  Police spokesperson, On the 7th of June, 2019 at about 12.20pm one Doris Isaac of No.6 Ajanaku Street, Okoko reported at Okoko Police Station that on the same date at about 8.20am, her foster son, Goodluck Amechi of the same address, 11years old of age was attacked with a  matchet by one Jeremiah Obifor 61years old of No.14 Isha Ibrahim street, Mechanic Bus stop, Mebamu, Okoko and cut off his right hand. 

Elkana, said the victim was rushed to Igando General Hospital, while the suspect alleged that, he saw the victim around his fish pond and thought that he came to steal his fish, that is why he attacked him. 

He said investigation  is ongoing and the suspect will be charged to Court.

In another development two-Man Squad of Motorcycles snatching syndicate have been arrested and arms recovered from them on 8th June, 2019 at about 10.00am.

The Police said one Mohammed  Faruk of No 37 Teslim Street, Bariga reported at Sabo Police Station that, two men namely Tobi Onileowo 26year old of Ilupeju and Olakunle  Ayo 25years old of Igbogbo, Ikorodu shot him with a gun in an attempt to snatch his motorcycle. Though a team of Police Officers led by the Divisional Police Officer Sabo, CSP Chike Ibe swung into action.  

The suspects engaged the team in a gun battle but were subdued. Tobi Onileowo was arrested while Olakunle Ayo was fatally injured. One Double Barrel pistol with two expanded cartridges and one live cartridge were recovered from the suspects. Investigation is ongoing.
