The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in Anambra has said that nine persons were injured in road crash at Nkpor junction, near Onitsha.
According to the Command, “A serious road traffic crash as a result of loss of control leading to head on collision involving a Honda pilot jeep with registration number AWK 494 DU, and a yellow Mitsubishi L300 bus with registration number ATN 752 ZK occurred at about 1420hrs Thursday 3rd August, 2020”
According to eyewitnesses a total of Sixteen(16) people (11) male adults and (5) female adults were involved. Six(6) male adults and (3) female Adults sustained varying degrees of injury and were rushed to Iyenu hospital Ogidi, by FRSC rescue team from Nteje Unit Command while obstruction is being cleared. No life was lost.
The Sector Commander in the State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi, while wishing the injured victims quick recovery admonished drivers to drive with absolute concentration and be mindful of other road user to avoid undue crashes on the highways.
