The abducted Katsina schoolboys who have now regained their freedom, on Friday, December 18, have narrated their ordeal in the hands of their abductors.

“We ate only once in two days”, one of the boys told the press. He also said he was not feeling well, adding that they really suffered while in the bush.

Another boy said they were made to defecate in the same place that they slept.

Katsina State Governor Masari had mandated the medical check-up of the boys after the press briefing.

The Katsina Governor assured them that they will be properly taken care of before being handed to their parents.

Meanwhile, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Friday, December 18, revealed that the Federal Government would continue to protect the lives and property of all Nigerians.

Osinbajo made this pledge via his Twitter handle -@ProfOsinbajo – on Friday.

This was in response to the rescue of over 300 Katsina students allegedly kidnapped by Fulani bandits on December 11.

Osinbajo wrote, “I am particularly thankful that the kidnapped students of Government Science Secondary School in Kankara are free. We are thankful that they are safe and will be home with their families for the holidays.

“We are grateful to everyone who worked on securing their release.

“And as President @MBuhari mentioned, this administration will continue to work hard at protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians at all times.”
