Energy & Corporate Africa has announced that the Africa Marginal and Independent Oil/Gas producers Conference will hold towards the end of August at the Crowne Plaza, in London.

According to the organisers, Africa’s prolific geology and the imperative for governments to balance production with economic developments, have given rise to germane need to ensure rapid development of stranded assets, large and marginal fields.

Chief Executive Officer, Energy & Corporate Africa, Sunny Oputa, noted that Africa’s oil patch opens up massive opportunities for independent and indigenous companies that are ready to benefit from this emerging new wave of economic buoyancy.

This comes amid new investor friendly legislation that encourages participation of indigenous companies in the development of oil and gas assets, and significant divestment of assets by big oil companies in the region.

He said Africa Marginal and Independent Oil/Gas producers Conference will bring together the region’s oil/gas senior government officials, national oil companies, independents, indigenous companies, banks, investors, legislators, and analysts to share knowledge, and also network for the benefits of all concerned.

The conference will showcase available assets both large and marginal, farm-in and other business opportunities through national and company presentations. It will afford deal seekers and decision makers’ grand platform to interact smoothly under same roof.

The conference will further articulate the technical, economic, geopolitical, and regulatory challenges impacting the development of large/marginal assets in the region, and will through expert presentations from various companies share knowledge on the experiences of some companies on how they were able to overcome pitfalls.

Among some of the confirmed speakers for the conference are: Dr. Babatunde Victor Adeniran, GED/COO (Ventures), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation; Mordecai Ladan, Director, Department of Petroleum Resources Nigeria; Ado Osaregbaje, President/CEO, GE Oil & Gas Sub-Saharan Africa among others.

Others include Pat Maseli, Deputy Director/Head, Upstream, Department of Petroleum Resources; Damien Mauvais, Head, Oil/Gas, Standard Bank, London; Adebayo
Adeniji, Vice President Global Accounts, Schlumberger, Olivier Fleurentin, Director, Oil & Gas Coverage, Standard Bank; Joseph Medou, E & P Director, Petrosen, Senegal; and Mike Aryeetey, COO, Explorco GNPC, Ghana.

Other expected speakers are Beal Rogers, Chairman/CEO, Fortesa International, Prof. Anthony Adegbulugbe, Chairman, All  Grace Energy; Sam Olotu, CTO, LEKOIL; Thomas Dimitroff, Chairman TG Synergy, Abiodun Adesanya, Managing Director, Degeconek/President, Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorers; and Sani Hassan, Assistant Director, Basinal Assessment & Licensing, DPR, Nigeria, and others.

The Producers conference will help interested parties to get first hand information on the available and large assets in the region; present a one-stop opportunity to plug into the business opportunities in the region; and get expert solutions on geological, geophysical, commercial, regulatory and other technical challenges impacting development of assets in the region.

Amid global market volatility, the conference will also enable operators to understand how to reduce cost, control CAPEX and OPEX, and gain valuable information on how to access capital for projects in the region. It also provides immense opportunity to network among top government officials, decision makers, industry top players and peers.
