Aig-Imoukhuede’s Youth Internship Application Closes May 31

Nigerian youths have been reminded that applications for ‘Leaving The Tarmac Internship and Mentoring Programme, initiated by Mr. Aig-Imoukhuede is coming to a close and intended applicants still have few days to apply.

Leaving the Tarmac Internship and Mentoring Programme offers five young Nigerians a truly exceptional opportunity to invest a year of their time to fast track their professional development.


There are only a few days left to apply for this unprecedented mentoring internship offered by banker, author and philanthropist, Mr Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede as he continues to invest in the development of the next generation. The closing date for the salaried, mentored internships, is May 31, 2021. No application submitted after this date will be considered.


When he announced the creation of the mentoring internships while speaking with young Nigerians at the Ovie Brume Youth Centre, Mr Aig-Imoukhuede affirmed his deep personal investment in sharing the benefit of his wealth of knowledge and experience to enable young people grow into their full professional and personal potential.


Applications to the programme have streamed in since the announcement was made three weeks ago and Mr Aig-Imoukhuede says applicant quality has been truly exceptional: “I am reminded of the pool of talent, intelligence and commitment that resides in the Nigerian youth and I am given hope afresh for our future as a nation.


“I urge young people who are eligible for the internship positions to make haste and apply. I look forward immensely, to reviewing shortlisted candidates, attending the interviews, selecting the five interns and welcoming them on board.”


The five successful Leaving the Tarmac interns will be placed in positions across Mr

Aig-Imoukhuede’s businesses and philanthropic ventures. They will meet quarterly over a 12-month period with Aig-Imoukhuede to discuss their progress and to benefit, in a one-to-one situation, from his mentorship. Additionally, the group of five will collectively meet twice in the 12-month period with Mr Aig-Imoukhuede to discuss their experiences, ambitions and learnings with each other, and with him.


Any Nigerian citizen aged between 19 and 26 who has a degree (or who graduates this year) is eligible. The names of shortlisted candidates will be announced in in the first half of June, 2021. Those shortlisted will attend an interview after which successful applicants will be announced.
