AIG Shehu Assures Eko Disco Of Security Support

The Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, Zone 2, Lawal Shehu, has reiterated that the Police will continue to offer its support to the Eko Electricity Distribution Company, EKEDC, and in particular by protecting lives and properties. 

Shehu gave the assurance when EKEDC management paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Onikan, Lagos. 

The delegation was led by the Chairman, EKEDC Board of Directors, Mr Charles Momoh, Board Member, Barrister George Etomi, and the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Engr Adeoye Fadeyibi..

The AIG covering the Lagos and Ogun zone with other senior members of the team warmly received the delegates from the company. In attendance were also the Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary, Wola Joseph, General Manager Corporate Communications, Godwin Idemudia and Chief Security Officer, Murikisu Banwo. 

Mr. Idemudia, the chief spokesperson of the company in his opening remarks explained that the motive behind the courtesy visit was to formally acquaint themselves with the head of the zone and congratulate him on his recent deployment. He also added that it was necessary to maintain a cordial relationship between the parties as they both play significant roles in the affairs of the Nigerian public.

The Chairman, EKEDC Board of Directors, Charles Momoh commended the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force in ensuring the safety of lives and properties throughout the nation, then  lauded the display of professionalism by men of the force in the discharge of their  duties. 

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of EKEDC, Engr Adeoye Fadeyibi extolled the Police for their support for the company and quick response to distress calls made by the company. He went further to  express the company’s gratitude to the Police for not condoning any form of assault on the staff of the company in the discharge of their duties. 

The AIG commended the electricity distribution company in its efforts to provide safe and sustainable power supply and customer satisfaction.
