Aker Solution
Norway-based Aker Solutions and Italy’s Saipem are cooperating on targeted global subsea oil and gas development projects.

Aker Solutions will combine its capabilities in subsea products and technologies with Saipem’s experience in engineering, procurement, and construction, as well as installation of subsea infrastructures.

Aker Solutions CEO Luis Araujo said: “We will team-up with Saipem on targeted projects, providing integrated solutions that will enable our clients to make the most of their upstream investments, reduce development time and lower operating costs.”

As part of the collaboration, Aker and Saipem will engage with clients, right from the initial concept and design phase and promote total system engineering.

“This joint effort will support efficient subsea development.”
Later on, they will provide solutions for construction, operations and maintenance.

The partnership will develop and manage all interfaces between subsea production systems and subsea umbilical, riser and flowline systems and provide services over the lifetime of a field.

Saipem CEO Stefano Cao said: “This joint effort will support efficient subsea development.”

Earlier in April 2015, Saipem formed a joint venture with Nigeria-based Dangote Group to develop new business in Central and West Africa.

Saipem Dangote E&C, a new company created following the JV was intended to secure complex engineering and construction projects.
