Gunmen have blazingly attacked a police station in Anambra State leading to the killing of five policemen.
Similarly, daredevil bandits also attacked a lawmaker’s convoy on Thursday, September 30, 2021.
The station attacked is the Ajali Police Station, in Orumba North Local Government Area, Anambra State.
During the attacks five officers were gunned down and the station set ablaze.
The gunmen said to be numbering about seven and dressed in red T-Shirts and black Jean trousers; stormed the police station in a Lexus car, shooting sporadically, forcing their way into the police station after killing a policeman that accosted them on entry. Also, an innocent civilian was also gunned down after which the attackers proceeded to release all detainees in the station; ordering them to leave the premises of the station immediately.
Also, on Thursday and in another incident in Anambra; gunmen attacked the convoy of Honorable Chris Azubogu; the member representing Nnewi North/Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, killing one of his drivers.
Hon. Azubogu was reportedly attacked on the Nnewi–Nnobi Road on his way back to Nnewi from Awka after his formal declaration for the All Progressives Congress (APC). The attack reportedly occurred in front of St Paul’s Anglican Church, Nnobi; located in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
