An Anambra socio-political group, Anambra Democratic Vanguard (ADV),has praised the Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Dr  Christian Madubuko for his professionalism and ingenious manner he has managed the trainsport industry in the State during this Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.

The Spokesperson of the   group, Chief Zacheaus Onah, said the Commissioner was able to balance the safety of Anambrarians with the welfare of transport operators by directing that Buses should carry two passengers per a seat at the back while one passenger in the front seat and Keke operators should carry two passengers each.

He also made the wearing of face mask by the drivers and the passengers compulsory, stressing that these measures have helped in reducing the deadly and infectious coommunity transmission of Covid 19 pandemic in the State.

They also commended Governor Willie Obiano for waiving the payment of levies by all categories of buse and Keke operating in the State, stating that the measures on the advise of the Dr Christain Madubuko to Gov have  greatly helped the drivers to cushion the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic.

They urged the Commissioner to checkmate some hoodlums and touts who still collect money from articulated vehicles and lorries carrying goods at Owerri  road and  Bridgehead on daily basis especially between the hours of 8pm till dawn.

The group said inspite of the Governor’s directive some of the touts still collect money from Keke operators, appealing to the Commissioner to use his good office to halt these hoodlums from further collection of money from  vehicle vehicle and Keke operators.

Dr. Madubuko  thanked the members of Anambra Development  Vanguard (ADV)  who paid him a courtesy visit to thank him for the good job he  has done about Covid-19.

He advised them to be good ambassadors of the State and Ndigbo in general.

The Commissioner said as good christian, he has forgiven those who criminally and falsely  alleged and accused him of financial mismanagement and extortion but vowed to do his best to improve  transport industry in the State not minding the unnecessary distraction by these faceless individuals.

He however  advised drivers in the State to abide by a  the directives  given to them  by the State Government during this Covid-19 pandemic to maintain social distancing and continous wearing of face masks as a measure to contain and checkmates Covid 19 spread.
