Anambra FRSC Blames Ihiala Accident On Over Speeding

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Anambra State Command, has blamed a traffic accident in Ihiala on over speeding.

Acting Spokesperson of the Command, RC Kamal Musa, said, “At about 1720hrs a serious road traffic crash  involving a Total hiace bus with registration number  ENU 465 ZE and a Nissan bus with registration number ZLL 792 XA  was recorded on Wednesday night at Okohia, along Ihiala – Onitsha road.

According to the eyewitnesses, the crash occurred as a result of excessive speeding leading to loss of control.

A total of fifteen people, 7 Male adults, 6, Female adults, 1 male child and 1 female child were involved.

Musa said, 1 male adult, 3 female adults, 1 male child and 1 female child who sustained varying degrees of injuries were rushed to God Favour hospital Ihiala by FRSC rescue team from Ihiala Unit Command while normal flow of traffic was restored.

The Sector Commander of the Corps Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi warned motorists against driving above stipulated speed limits, especially in built up areas.

He also admonished drivers to be cautious while driving and give consideration to other road users.
