Anambra FRSC Records Multiple Accidents

The Federal Road Safety Corps in Anambra has recorded road traffic accidents in parts of the state.

According Spokesperson of the Command, RC Kamal Musa, “At about 1550hrs today Tuesday 8th September 2020, a serious Road Traffic Crash (RTC) involving a Toyota Sienna bus with registration number FGE 95 AA and a Yellow Tata luxurious bus belonging to Anambra State Government with registration number AWK 679 XJ was recorded at opposite FRSC Office Nteje along Onitsha- Awka express way.

According to eyewitnesses, the crash occurred as a result of excessive speeding leading to loss of control of the Sienna bus and crashing into the luxurious bus . It also involved a total of Sixty nine(69) people (61) male adults, (5) female Adults and (3) children. Two (2) Male adults who were slightly injured were taken to FRSC clinic Nteje, by FRSC rescue team from Nteje Unit Command while the obstruction is being cleared.

The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi, wished the injured victims quick recovery and strongly warned motorists to desist from excessive speeding and abide by the stipulated speed limits by law on the express way to avoid road traffic Crashes.

In another development, “At about 0950hrs today Tuesday 8th September, 2020 a multiple Road Traffic Crashes (RTC) involving a red/white M/Benz trailer with registration number XN 305 ENU , Green 911 M/benz Tipper with registration number FGG 62 ZV, a Green Honda Civic Saloon Car with the registration number AGU 346 JT, a Yellow Mitsubishi L300 with registration number XE 263 JJT and a red Toyota RAV4 with registration number RSH 409 SKT was recorded at Nnobi Nkpor road near the river in Nnewi.”

The crash was caused by excessive speeding leading to loss of control of the Mitsubishi L300 bus which resulted to secondary crashes of other vehicles in the process of carrying out the rescue operations.

It also involved a total of Thirteen(13) people (10) male adults, (3 )female adults and (7) male adults, (3) female adults who sustained varying degrees of injury and were rushed to Mayor hospital Nnobi by FRSC rescue team from Nnewi Unit Command while obstruction is being cleared. No life was lost.

The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi. while wishing the incurred victims quick recovery admonished motorists to adhere strictly to stipulated speed limits and always give consideration to other road users as road traffic crashes are available.
