The Police in Anambra State have nabbed a two man robbery gang.
According to the State Police Public Relations Officer SP Haruna Mohammed, “There was a distress call by one Ifejika Ogechi ‘female’ and Cheta Geofrey ‘male’ that while returning from work, they were attacked with bottles and dispossessed of their phones, and some money #9000 by a two man robbery syndicate operating on tricycle popularly known as Keke at Okpuno Awka.
Following the distress call, Police operatives attached to B’ division Awka in conjunction with local vigilante group arrested one Christian Nwalieji ‘male’ aged 29 years of Umuawa Ifite Ogwari in Ayamelum LGA but resides at City Supermarket Area Okpuno.
The suspect, according to Mohammed confessed to the crime and is assisting the Police to arrest other accomplices in order to bring them to book.
Meanwhile, one tricycle with registration number Anambra ZBL-121-VC used in committing the act was recovered as exhibit.
Mohammed further stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP John B.Abang has warned criminals in the State to jettison crime or relocate before the long arm of the law catch up with them.
