Anambra Police Smashes Robbery, Car Snatching Syndicate

The Anambra Police Command has arrested three suspects and recovered two firearms, ammunition and a Toyota Highlander jeep allegedly snatched at gunpoint.

SP Haruna Mohammed, PPRO Anambra State Police Command, recalled that on the 23/3/2020 at about 8:20pm,a Toyota Highlander jeep with Registration number APP 49 FM and other valuables belonging to one Christopher Oraukwu ‘m’ aged 54 years were snatched at gunooint along Ekwulobia road Aguata.

Following the report, police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad(SARS) swung into action and had on the 23/5/2020 arrested Chidi Ugoji ‘m’ aged 31years of Ukpo, Dunukofia LGA, Okoye Onyebuchi ‘m’ aged 34 years of Umunachi and Onwe Chigozie ‘m’ aged 22years of Ikwo, Ebonyi State.

Suspects were arrested at their hideouts in Achalla/ Nkpor area and have voluntatily confessed to the crime.

Meanwhile, exhibits recovered in their possessions  includes one pump action gun, one cut to size double barrel gun, four life catridges, one Mitsubishi L300 bus used by the syndicate for their robbery operations and the snatched Toyota Highlander jeep.

Suspects would be charged to Court as soon as investigation is concluded, Mohammed said.
