The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC in Anambra State has blamed a minor accident which occurred on Friday to speed limit violation.
According to spokesman of the Command, Pascal A. Anigbo, the accident involved a Mack Lowbed, without registration number, belonging to TAMAD Construction Company, carrying an excavator and a Toyota Hiace, which was impounded by the Police before the arrival of the FRSC rescue team from Nteje Unit Command.
The crash which was caused by Speed Limit Violation and Loss of Control, occurred beside Oyi Local Government Secretariat, along Nteje-Aguleri Road. Three(3) male adults were involved. No injury and no death recorded, Anigbo said.
He said the FRSC operatives managed traffic while efforts were being made to remove the obstruction caused.
The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi warned motorists against over-speeding, especially in built-up areas, which often than not has led to loss of control and avoidable road traffic crashes.
He advised drivers to always drive with common sense speed limits.
“People are also advised to stay at home, keep social distance and obey other protective protocols as issued by the NCDC and the State Government in order to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.” he added.
