Nigerian carrier, ValueJet has identified with the country’s Armed Forces noting that the contribution of serving and retired officers and men as well as those who died in the course of defending the nation’s democracy and national unity had not been in vain.

In a statement on Tuesday, the management of the airline prayed for the quick recovery of those who suffered one form of injury or the other while protecting the nation’s freedom and fighting against insurgency in the country.

The airline stated this as the country celebrates men and women who sacrificed their lives for the protection of the country’s sovereignty at this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day which is marked every January 15 of every year.

The event which holds nationwide on January 15 annually, honours the country’s fallen heroes.

The Managing Director of the airline, Capt Omololu Majekodunmi acknowledged the immeasurable contributions of, “Our gallant officers and men both serving and retired.”

“Your selfless dedication to service in protecting our nation’s freedom and security has resulted in the relative peace that we enjoy today. We assure you of our unremitting support as you continue to uphold our values of respect for the rule of law, professionalism, loyalty to constituted authority, discipline, selfless service, and courage.”

“We pour our hearts of gratitude to those brief men and women who give their lives for the existence of our country. For those who have suffered one form of injury or the other, we appreciate you and we will continue to pray for your quick recovery.

“Similarly, for those who have passed on, we thank you for your great sacrifices. Always remember that all your efforts and steadfast devotion in defence of our democracy and national unity in line with our constitutional roles will never be in vain.”
