The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Musa Sani Yusuf challwnged participants of 81 Division Operations Planning Cadre 2019 with the theme: SUSTAINING CAPACITY BUILDING AS KEY TO SUCCESSFUL CONDUCT OF MOOTW , to use the training as a sustainable efforts to confront the prevailing security challenges in the country.
General Yusuf who was represented by the Commander 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Olaniyi Olusegun Olatunde gave the charge during his inaugural speech for 81 Division Operations Planning Cadre 2019 held at 81 Division Officers’ Mess, 6 Outer Marina, Lagos.
He further reminded the participants to always avail themselves with the knowledge acquired for the successful conduct of Military Operations Other Than War (MOOTW).
GOC expressed optimism that this year 2019 Planning Cadre would afford training and retraining of Nigerian Army personnel which is the cardinal point of the Chief of Army Staff’s vision, “to have a professional responsive Nigerian Army in the discharge of its constitutional roles.”
General Yusuf noted that the Army Headquarters training directive 2019 would create an enabling environment to providing the opportunity of synergising with other sister services with the aim of reflecting on current realities on ground.
The GOC enjoined the participants to ensure proper use of the lecture and also tap from the wealth of experience of the resource persons in order to be effective in the field, stressing that adequate arrangements have been made for their comfort and security.
GOC therefore thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai for his financial support for this Planning Cadre, without which this would not have been possible.
Dignitaries at the event were the Special Guest of Honour Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Logistics Command, represented by Air Commodore PD Masiyer, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral OH Ngalabak. representative of Corps Commanders, Directors, Brigade Commanders, representatives of other sister services, Principal Staff Officers of 81 Division, Nigerian Army and as well as erudite resource persons.
